You can put this solution on YOUR website!
This problem is asking you to find the hypoteneuse of a
right triangle with the 2 other sides given.
To solve this, use the pythagorean theorem:
a%5E2%2Bb%5E2=c%5E2 where c is the hypotenuese while
a and b are the other 2 sides.
So, for your problem,
c%5E2=32%5E2%2B32%5E2
c%5E2=1024%2B1024
c%5E2=2048
Solve for c by taking the square root of both sides:
c=sqrt%282048%29
c=32%2Asqrt%282%29
There is also a trick to problems like this. If you recognize that
the triangle is an isosceles right triangle (i.e. two sides are equal),
then the hypoteneuse is always s%2Asqrt%282%29 where s is one side.
Good Luck
