A criminal stole a watch from a store and started running down Deer Street at 50 feet per minute. A police officer started chasing him 5 minutes later. Could he catch the criminal in 10 minutes if he ran 70 feet per minute? Explain Why.
So I need to make an equation, solve it, and explain why he could or could not catch the criminal.

You can put this solution on YOUR website! In 10 minutes the police would run 10*70 = 700 feet, at the same time the criminal had ran 50*5 + 50*10 = 750 feet; 750 > 700, therefore the police could not catch the criminal.
