Question 78635: Can you help me with this problem?
3a^2-2a plus 7)plus a^2 -3a-4)
my plus sign is not working neither is my left bracket key is working, so I hope
you understand my problem.
I tried to solve this problem like this:
3a^2-2a plus 7)plus a^2 -3a-4)
2a-2a plus a plus 7) plus a plus a - 3a
but as you see I am confused. Your help will be appreciated.

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
I assume the question is just to simplify the expression.
Let me re-write it first, since all my keys work :-)
%283a%5E2-2a%2B7%29%2B%28a%5E2-3a-4%29
To simplify this expression, you need to combine "like terms."
"Like terms" are those terms that have their variable raised to
the same exponent. For example, 3a^2 and a^2 are "like terms."
So, you can re-write this as:
4a%5E2-5a%2B3
If, like I said, the problem was jusst to simplify the expression,
then that is the answer.
