Question 78586: One of two complementary angles is 4 more than the other. Find the angles.
(Recall that complementary angles are angles whose sum is equal to 90.) Answer by ptaylor(2198) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! Let x= one complementary
And x+4=the other
x+x+4=90 subtract 4 from both sides
x+x+4-4=90-4 collect like terms
2x=86 divide both sides by 2
x=43 degrees------------------------------one angle
x+4=43+4=47 degrees-----------------------------the other angle
CK
43+47=90
90=90
also
47 is 4 more than 43
