You can put this solution on YOUR website!
(100.2 +.01) - 0.2(.5y - 15) solve for y.
I'm having a problem after I multiple the .2 x .5y and -15..
:
in order to solve something you have to have an equation, this expression
has no equal sign. It is not an equation. To help you am going to assume it should read:
(100.2 +.01) = 0.2(.5y - 15)
on the left do the math, on the right distribute .2
100.21 = .1y - 3
100.21 + 3 = .1y
103.21 = .1y
y has to have a coefficient of 1, multiply both sides by 10
1032.1 = y

Ok Simplify is another story
(100.2 +.01) - 0.2(.5y - 15)
do the math on the left, multiply what's inside the brackets on the right by -.2
100.21 - .1y + 3 (Remember a minus * minus is a plus)
100.21 + 3 - .1y
103.21 - .1y
