Question 783635: Hi guys! This is a very tricky question(for me at least) your help for this is greatly needed!
An air force plane left Paris and flew toward Las Vegas at an average speed of 174.2 km/h. A jet left at the same time and flew in the opposite direction with an average speed of 381.3 km/h. How long does the jet need to fly before the planes are 1111 km apart?

If anyone could help me thanks!

You can put this solution on YOUR website!

If they are flying in opposite directions, they are moving apart at a rate equal to the sum of their average speeds.
