Question 783011: i have to write an equation in point-slope form for the line with the given slope that contains the given point .
Slope= 1/5; (2, -6) .
I'm in the 8th grade, and in Algebra 1, but i still dont quite get how to do the point slope formula and i'm too afraid to ask him beacause he makes me feel like an idiot..

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
write an equation in point-slope form for the line with the given slope that contains the given point
Slope= 1/5; (2,-6)
------------
Use y = mx + b and the point to find b, the y-intercept.
----
-6 = (1/5)*2 + b
-30/5 = 2/5 + b
b = -32/5
-----
y = (2/5)x - 32/5
