You can put this solution on YOUR website!
In order to find the answer, you hneed to find how long it would take to make the trip at 45km/h traveling for 50km.
The first step would be to find the distance that trip is, so you would do that by multiplying speed and time (50km/h*6h) which means the distance is 300km.
Now that you have the distance you can calculate how long it would take to make the trip at the second speed. time=distance/speed so the equation would be (300km/45km/h) making the answer 6.67 hours.
Now that you have the time from both trips, the easiest thing to do would be convert both of the times in to minutes. You would do this by multiplying each by 60 (because there is 60 minutes in an hour). So for the 6.0 hours, that would be 360 minutes and for the second one it would be 400.2 minutes. Now you subtract to find the difference (400.2m-360m) which means the answer is 40.2 minutes.

at 50 mph they took 6 hours
d=rt
50*6=300 mile
d=300
speed = 45
t= d/r
=300/45=6.67 hours
extra time = 0.67 hours
0.67*60 =40.2
about 40 minutes extra
