You can put this solution on YOUR website!
2(x+8)=3(x-9)
2x+16=3x-27
-x=-27-16
x=43

Answer by algebrahouse.com(1659) About Me  (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website!
x = the number

2(x + 8) = 3(x - 9) {twice the sum of a number and 8 is three times the difference of the number and 9}
2x + 16 = 3x - 27 {used distributive property}
16 = x - 27 {subtracted 2x from each side}
x = 43 {added 16 to each side}

I've found the number, and it is 43
