You can put this solution on YOUR website!
How many pounds of salted nuts selling for $3.00 per pund should be mixed with 2 pounds of salted buts selling for $1.60 per pund to obtain a mixture selling for $2.72 per pound.
----------
$3 Salted nuts DATA:
Amount = x lbs ; Value of these is 300x cents
-------------
$1.60 salted nuts DATA:
Amount = 2 lbs.Value of these is 160*2=320 cents
-----------
Misture DATA:
Amount = x+2 lbs ; Value of these is 272(x+2)= 272x+544 cents
--------------
EQUATION:
value + value = value
300x + 320 = 272x+544
28x =224
x=8 lbs (amount of $3 coffee)
