Question 780087: Jessica needs to have an average of 89 percent on her math tests to get an A-. If her scores are 83%, 89%, 90%, and 92%, what must she score on the next test to maintain an A-?
This is off a study sheet for a test I have to take before electrical school. I just need to know steps on how to do it. We've tried getting the average and find whats missing but we got stuck.

Let score on next test that'll yield an 89% or an "A" average be F
Then:
Solve for F.
Then do a check!!
