Question 779792: If I roll 5 regular dice out of a cup (and continuously re-roll; meaning roll then pick up all the dice and restart, pick up / restart, etc.), what is the probability of getting "5 of a kind" within 1,296 attempts (including the 1,296th roll)?
I tried this:
x = Probability of NOT rolling "5 of a kind" within 1,296 attempts = (1295/1296)^1296≈0.37
Probability of rolling "5 of a kind" within 1,296 attempts = 1 - x ≈ 0.63
