Question 77979: ok i have all the multiplying, and dividing fractions that look like this
(24r^s^) x (21s)
______ ___ = ????
(3s) ---- (r)
And i cant find any sites that will help me with them. also i have dividing a polynomia by a monomial, Whats a monomial?, and solving fractional equations that have to have answers like x=24 or u=3. i am completely stumped and in danger of failing the eight grade. plz help me i really want to go to high school. thank you for you time and plz try your best to help me

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
If you have something like this:
%28%2824r%5E2s%5E2%29%2F%283s%29%29%2A%28%2821s%29%2Fr%29 note: I cannot see any exponents over r and s, so I'll assume they are both 2
When you divide 2 like bases with exponents, you subtract the exponents (ie x%5E3%2Fx%5E2=x%5E%283-2%29=x%5E1=x)

%28%288r%5E2s%5E%282-1%29%29%29%2A%28%2821s%29%2Fr%29 Divide the common bases (24/3=8) and subtract the exponents
%28%288r%5E2s%5E1%29%29%2A%28%2821s%29%2Fr%29
When you multiply common bases, you add the exponents (ie x%5E3%2Ax%5E2=x%5E%283%2B2%29=x%5E5)

%28168r%5E2s%5E%281%2B1%29%29%2Fr

%28168r%5E2s%5E2%29%2Fr
Now divide
%28168r%5E%282-1%29s%5E2%29

168r%2As%5E2 So this is the simplified answer

Whenever you say %282x%5E2%2B5x%29%2F%285x%29 you are dividing a polynomial (poly-many nomial-name) over a monomial (mono-one, nomial-name). In a sense these are monomials:
x,5x,2xy,10,etc
Basically any terms that are alone are monomials(they have 1 term); where multiple terms that are added or subtracted are polynomials (they have many terms):
polynomials - 2x%5E2%2B5x%2B6, 3x%5E2%2B6x%2B7,etc

I'm not sure what you mean by this "and solving fractional equations that have to have answers like x=24 or u=3"
