You can put this solution on YOUR website! Can you help me out?
 Please walk me through and help me answer this exactly what are all the steps do I need to solve this and what is my answer?
 one number is 4 less than 5 times another number if the sum of the two numbers is 68, find the two numbers

 Let smaller and larger numbers be S and L, respectively

 Since one number is 4 less than 5 times the other, then we can say that:
 L = 5S - 4 ----- eq (i)

 Since the sum of the two numbers is 68, then we can say that: L + S = 68 ----- eq (ii)

 5S - 4 + S = 68 ------ Substituting 5S - 4 for L in eq (ii)

 5S + S = 68 + 4

 6S = 72

 S, or smaller number =
  , or

 L = 5(12) - 4 ----- Substituting 12 for S in eq (i)

 L = 60 - 4

 Larger number, or

 You can do the check!!
