Question 778759: Hey there, well I'm a little stuck on this problem:
Find the quotient
(2x^3-128)/(4x)÷(x^2-16)/(8x^2)
I have completely forgotten how to divide polynomials and I would HIGHLY appreciate if someone broke down this problem into steps so that I can understand how to divide this and other problems like this one. Thank you so much in advance!

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Find the quotient
%28%282x%5E3-128%29%2F4x%29%2F%28%28x%5E2-16%29%2F%288x%5E2%29%29
Invert the divisor and multiply
= %28%282x%5E3-128%29%2F4x%29%2A%288x%5E2%2F%28x%5E2-16%29%29
Then factor and cancel.
Can you do the rest?
--------------
= %28%282x%5E3-128%29%29%2A%282x%2F%28x%5E2-16%29%29
= %282%28x-4%29%2A%28x%5E2+%2B+4x+%2B+16%29%29%2A%282x%2F%28%28x-4%29%2A%28x%2B4%29%29%29
= %282%28x%5E2+%2B+4x+%2B+16%29%29%2A%282x%2F%28%28x%2B4%29%29%29
= 4x%28x%5E2+%2B+4x+%2B+16%29%2F%28x%2B4%29
