Let x be the original angle and y be the complement angle (to angle x)

Since the two are complementary angles, this means

x+y = 90

Since "an angle is 35 more than its complement", we know that

x = y+35

y+35+y = 90 ... plug in x = y+35

y+35+y=90

2y+35=90

2y=90-35

2y=55

y=55/2

y=27.5

x = y+35

x = 27.5+35
