I presume it is
We need c in the numerator
multiply the equation by c
we get
C(P+N)=C+2
we remove C from the right side by adding -c
C(P+N)-C=C+2-C
C(P+N)-C=2
C is common
C((P+N)-1)=2
C(P+N-1)=2
divide by (P+N-1)
