if Edwin can do the job in 2 hrs, then in t hrs he does t/2 of the job similarly, Beau does t/3 of the job

together they do the whole job, so the equation is %28t%2F2%29%2B%28t%2F3%29=1...multiplying by 6 gives 3t+2t=6

so 5t=6 and t=6/5
