Question 77713: I was given this question by an instructor at MMI and it has been too long since I have done this kind of math. I would appreciate your help. A student travels two miles to school. the first mile the student averages 15 mph. upon arrival at school the students average is up to 30 mph. how fast would the student have to go in the second mile to achieve this. is this a mathmatically feasible question.

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
distance is 2 mi. ; with average speed of 30 mph, time is 4 min.---for first mile, average speed is 15 mph, time is 4 min.

this leaves zero time for second mile...unless student is Harry Potter, this is not likely
