You can
put this solution on YOUR website!
Sqrt(2)-sqrt( 8)
we can write sqrt(8) =2*sqrt(2)
So sqrt(2) - 2*(sqrt(2))
Taking the common term out we get,
= sqrt(2)*(1-2)
= (-sqrt(2))

Question:
SQRT of 2 - SQRT of 8
ANSWER:
SQRT of 2 - SQRT of 8 = (SQRT of 2) - SQRT of ( 2 * 4 ), 8 can be written as 4*2
= (SQRT of 2) - (SQRT of 2 * SQRT of 4)
= (SQRT of 2) - 2 * (SQRT of 2) becoz square root of 4 is 2
= (SQRT of 2)( 1 - 2 ), here SQRT of 2 is common in both terms so take the common term outside.
= (SQRT of 2)(-1)
= -(SQRT of 2)
Hope you understood.
