( female employees ) / ( male employees ) = 4/5
Let +x+ = number of male employees
+4%2F5+=+80+%2F+x+
Multiply both sides by +5x+
+4x+=+400+
+x+=+100+
There are 100 male employees and 80 female employees
+100+%2B+80+=+180+
There are 180 total employees
