Question 775528: My problem is something is wrong with the equation. The instruction says to correct the equation to make it work. Could you help me?
The original equation is r+s/r+t = 1 + s/t
Could you show me the correct equation, then assign values to r,s, and t. I need to show that the equation is correct by substituting in values. Answer by ankor@dixie-net.com(22740) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! The original equation is r+s/r+t = 1 + s/t
: = 1 +
change it to = 1 -
Assign values: r=1, t=2; find s = 1 - = 1 -
multiply equation by 6
2(1+s) = 6 - 3s
2 + 2s = 6 - 3s
2s + 3s = 6 - 2
5s = 4
s = 4/5
s = .8
:
See if r=1; s=.8; t=2 works in the original equation = 1 + = 1 - .4
.6 = .6, our equation works now
