i didn't know how to do imaginary numbers on here but thats what the i stands for. and i tried to put in the f%281%2Bi%2Asqrt%283%29%29 into all of the x's but i don't think im doing it right? thank you for all your help!

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
SUBSTITUTE the number for x, no matter only real or complex. DO THE ARITHMETIC according to the function's definition. SIMPLIFY into the final result.

Are you yet unstudied about imaginary numbers, and the imaginary number unit, i ?
To be simple, the way this unit works is i%2Ai=i%5E2=-1.
As used in complex numbers, %28a%2Bbi%29%2B%28c%2Bdi%29=a%2Bc+%2B+%28b%2Bd%29i;
and .
The only new idea here is i%5E2=-1.

Have no fear about this. Just try working through.
