Question 774922: hi,
Take the inner product (x,y) of the two following complex vectors. Find (a,b). (those brackets are supposed to be the triangular brackets that are above the comma and the full stop on the keyboard)
let a=(3+2i ,5-i), b=(-1+5i ,3-3i).

I've tried using the dot product but can't seem to figure out this problem due to the complex numbers that are being used. Ive tried researching for a formula but only keep find the dot product procedure.
thank-you for your help

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Would knowing that i%2Ai=i%5E2=-1 be enough for you to answer your question on your own? If not, please say.

Are you not sure how to multiply two complex numbers? Treat them each as binomials with a linear variable, i. Is this still not enough to do the problem yourself? If not enough, the say.
