To find the zeros we need to let k(x)=0 so we have

0=%284-x%29%2F%28x%5E2-9%29
So now we only care about the numerator. By this identity 0%2Fx=0 the denominator can be any number while the numerator is zero and the whole equation will be zero. So we can basically say:

0=4-x Now we can solve for x by adding x to both sides
x=4

So our zero is x=4
Notice the graph has an x-intercept of (4,0)
