You can put this solution on YOUR website!
x= cost of senior citizens tickets
y= cost of children tickets
First day
4 x + 2 y = 80 .............1
day II
5 x + 7 y = 145 .............2
Eliminate y
multiply (1)by -7
Multiply (2) by 2
-28 x -14 y = -560
10 x + 14 y = 290
Add the two equations
-18 x = -270
/ -18
x = 15
plug value of x in (1)
4 x + 2 y = 80
60 + 2 y = 80
2 y = 80 -60
2 y = 20
y = 10
x= 15 cost of senior citizens tickets
y= 10 cost of children tickets
