You can put this solution on YOUR website!
the question is: __ 4 times 8 = 272, find the missing digit
:
let n = the missing digit.
The missing digit is in the 10's position, therefore
10n+4 is the number, we can then write the equation:
8(10n+4) = 272
Divide both sides by 8
10n + 4 = 272/8
10n + 4 = 34
10n = 34 - 4
10n = 30
n =30/10
n = 3 is the missing digit
:
Check: 34 * 8 = 272
