Ans:
Given that A,B,C,D,E are all in the same line
AD = AB + BC + CD -> since all are part of the same line
Similarly,
BE = BC + CD + DE ---> since they are in the same line
= BC + CD + AB (since AB is congruent to DE)
= AB + BC + CD (rearranging the terms)
From the above 2 equations, AD = BE
As simple as that :)
