That's because it's wrong.
4/5 = 24/30
1/6 = 5/30

24/30 + 5/30 = 29/30

The denominators have to be the same to combine.

we can add fractions when they have the same denominators.
4/5=(4/5)(6/6)=24/30
1/6=(1/6)(5/5)=5/30
so that 4/5 + 1/6 = 24/30 + 5/30 = 29/30
