Arun's rate = 1/12 job/hr.
Bala's rate = 1/6 job/hr
Together rate = 1/x job/hr
Rate + Rate = Combined rate
1/12 + 1/6 = 1/x
Common denominator = 12x
x + 2x = 12
3x = 12
x = 4
Therefore, together they can complete
the task in 4 hours.
