then 4x=number of dimes
Now we are told that:
x+4x=60 or
5x=60
x=12----------------------number of nickels
4x=4*12=48--------------------number of dimes
Now 12*5 cents +48*10 cents =amount of money that she has
60 cents + 480 cents =540 cents or $5.40-------------ans
