The distance between delhi and meerut is 75 km.Two trains at a speed of 100km/hr & 80km/hr leave the two stations at 8 am towards eachother.At what time will they pass eachother
Let the distance they meet after start be x
d= rt Or t= d/r
time taken by one train = x/100
time taken by other train = (75-x)/80
These two times are same
x/100 = (75-x)/80
80x=100(75-x)
80x=7500-100x
80x+100x=7500
180x= 7500
x= 41.67 km
time they meet = 41.67/100
=0.42 hours= 25 minutes
they will cross at 8:25 AM

The distance between delhi and meerut is 75 km.Two trains at a speed of 100km/hr & 80km/hr leave the two stations at 8 am towards eachother.At what time will they pass eachother?

Let time it’ll take them to meet be T
Distance equation: Distance covered by faster train, plus distance covered by slower train, equals distance between the two stations, OR
100T + 80T = 75
180T = 75

T, or time = 75%2F180 hr, or 25 minutes

Time they’ll pass each other = highlight_green%288%3A25%29 AM
