taking the antilog of both sides gives...x=e(x-5)...distributing the e gives...x=ex-5e...subtracting ex gives...x-ex=-5e

factoring out the x gives...x(1-e)=-5e...dividing gives...x=%28-5e%29%2F%281-e%29

e is the base for natural logarithms
