Question 770822: What is the coefficient of correlation if given r^2 = 0.89 for a scatter plot with a linear equation (grade = -0.1106 class size + 76.3)?
I am not sure if I am correct, but is the answer 0.94? If it is not correct, please show the work to get an alternate answer. Answer by oscargut(2103) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! Since r^2 = 0.89
The coefficient of correlation is: -sqrt(0.89) = 0.943 or sqrt(0.89)= -0.943
(rounded to 3 dp) but since the slope of the line is < 0
The answer is : r = -0.943
