The number = x
8x - 10 = 6x + 4
8x - 6x = 4 + 10
2x = 14
x = 7
Number = 7.
Proof
8x - 10 = 6x + 4
8(7) - 10 = 6(7) + 4
56 - 10 = 42 + 4
46 = 46
