You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Let x be the speed of the plane and y be the speed of wind in mph.
While travelling against wind, effective speed is (x-y) mph
Time taken to travel 350 miles is 1 hour 10 min = 7/6 hours
So 350%2F%28x-y%29=7%2F6
x+-+y+=+350%2A6%2F7+=+300 ----> eqn 1
While travelling with the wind, effective speed is (x+y) mph
Time taken to travel 350 miles is 1 hour
So 350%2F%28x%2By%29=1
x+%2B+y+=+350   -----> eqn 2
Adding (1) and (2)
2%2Ax+=+650
x+=+325
since x + y = 350, y = 350 - 325 = 25
So speed of plane = red%28350%29 mph
Wind speed = red%2825%29 mph
