You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Let +m+ = man's age
Let +s+ = son's age
+m+%2B+2+ = man's age in 2 years
+s+%2B+2+ = son's age in 2 years
given:
(1) +m+=+8s+
(2) +m+%2B+2+=+6%2A%28+s+%2B+2+%29+
------------------------
(2) +m+%2B+2+=+6s+%2B+12+
(2) +m+=+6s+%2B+10+
Substitute (1) into (2)
(2) +8s+=+6s+%2B+10+
(2) +2s+=+10+
(2) +s+=+5+
and, since
(1) +m+=+8s+
(1) +m+=+8%2A5+
(1) +m+=+40+
The man is 40 and
his son is 5
------------
check:
(2) +m+%2B+2+=+6%2A%28+s+%2B+2+%29+
(2) +40+%2B+2+=+6%2A%28+5+%2B+2+%29+
(2) +42+=+6%2A7+
(2) +42+=+42+
OK
