One-third my mother’s age is the same as 8 less than half my mother’s age
1/3x = 1/2x -8
1/3x - 1/2x = -8
-1/6x = -8
x = 48
My mother is 48 years old.
One-third my mother’s age is the same as 8 less than half my mother’s age
1/3 * 48 = 1/2*48 -8
16 = 16.
