Question 769472: Let f(x)=(x^2-8x+12)/(x-2). Find the domain of f(x).
Each time I solve this problem I get (-infinity, 2] U [6, infinity) for the answer. This answer is incorrect, however I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong or how to get the correct answer.
I appreciate your help!

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Let f(x)=(x^2-8x+12)/(x-2). Find the domain of f(x).
Hi, in order to find the domain of rational function, we must find the value(s) which make rational function undefined. In order to do so, we will set the denominator to be zero then find those restricted value
x - 2 = 0
x = 2
So we dont want x = 2 in the domain of the f(x).
Thus the domain is (-inf, 2)U(2, inf)
Hope it helps you !
