Question 769444: could you please assist me:
Reduce the tractions to lowest terms and write improper fract. as mixed #??
1) divide 95/38= ? the answer sheet states its 2 1/2 and Calculator, but I cant figure it out by doing it myself per paper work.
Could you please show me the work on how the answer is? thks alot!! vivian

You can put this solution on YOUR website! divide 95/38= ?
take the denominator and multiply it by 2, 38*2 = 76
========================================================
now let's subtract 76 from the numerator (95)
95 - 76 = 19
========================================================
so the fraction 95/38 is 2 19/38
=======================================================
now reduce 19/38, note that 19 * 2 = 38, so 19/38 = 1/2
and we now have
95/38 = 2 1/2
=======================================================
