Let us call "t" the amount of time (in hours) it takes to reach the job site. Since you drive an average of 50 miles per hour, 50 times the time driven, or 50t, represents the total number of miles driven (distance = rate * time). We know that this distance is 75 miles, so we can say that
50t = 75
Solving for t, we get
t = 75/50
t = 3/2
Therefore, it takes 1.5 hours to reach the job site.
