Question 768099: please round all answers to the nearest hundredth unless otherwise stated. Evaluate each expression for the values given. need to show how problem is worked out.
-5a2; a = -2
and
√(b^2-4ac); b = 3, a = -1, c = -2
Answer by algebrahouse.com(1659) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! -5a², when a = -2
= -5(-2)² {substituted -2 in for a}
= -5(4) {evaluated exponent}
= -20 {multiplied}
√(b² - 4ac), when a = -1, b = 3, and c = -2
√[3² - 4(-1)(-2)] {substituted}
= √[9 - 8] {evaluated exponent and multiplied}
= √1 {subtracted}
= 1 {evaluated the square root of 1}
