The problem doesn't say what happens if the number of pages is less than 300, nor does it say that one dollar more for each additional ten pages means that it is a dollar per 10 pages or portion -- as in if it were 354 pages it would be 6 dollars more, or it a dollar per 10 pages means 10 cents per page. Mathematics demands precise definitions.
