Question 767576: for what value of x is the rational expression below equal to zero 20+2x/5-x
Answer by algebrahouse.com(1659) About Me  (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website!
20 + 2x
------- = 0
5 - x

20 + 2x = 0 {multiplied each side by (5 - x)}
2x = -20 {subtracted 20 from each side}
x = -10 {divided each side by 2}

As long as the numerator becomes zero, the fraction will, most likely, be equal to 0.
