20 + 2x
------- = 0
5 - x
20 + 2x = 0 {multiplied each side by (5 - x)}
2x = -20 {subtracted 20 from each side}
x = -10 {divided each side by 2}
As long as the numerator becomes zero, the fraction will, most likely, be equal to 0.
