You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Father is 3 times his son's age
f = 3d
In 12 years the father will be twice as old as his son.
f + 12 = 2(d + 12)
Substitute 3d for f in equation.
3d + 12 = 2(d + 12)
3d + 12 = 2d + 24
d = 12 (Son's age)
Substitute d = 12 into f = 3d
f = 3(12)
f = 36
So, father's age = 36
son's age = 12
Hope this helps.
