you split up the square roots into 2 mutliples, one being able to have to square root taken.
x(sqrt2 times sqrt9) - 3(sqrt2 times sqrt4x^2)
3x(sqrt2) - 3(2x)(sqrt2)
3x(sqrt2) - 6x(sqrt2)
subtract
-3x sqrt2
