65% of the number is 21 less than four fifth of that number.
Hence, x*(65/100) = x*(4/5) - 21
x * (4/5 - 65/100) = 21
x * (80/100 - 65/100) = 21
x * (15/100) = 21
x = 21 * 100 / 15 = ( 7 * 3 * 20 * 5 ) / ( 5 * 3) = 140
Hence, x = 140
