Question 764301: I have an 8oz solution which is 10% permitherin. How much water will I need to add to this solution to make this solution be .5% permitherin?
Or would it be better to mix as a ratio of water to permitherin? Answer by stanbon(75887) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! I have an 8oz solution which is 10% permitherin. How much water will I need to add to this solution to make this solution be 0.5% permitherin?
-----
Adding water will lower the percentage of permitherin.
--------
Equation:
water + water = water
0.90*8 + 1.0x = 0.995(8+x)
------
Multiply thru by 1000 to get:
900*8 + 1000x = 995*8 + 995x
-------
5x = 95*8
x = 19*8
x = 152 oz (amt. of water to add)
