I got 5x-10-1x=40-1x+2 after getting rid of the fraction
then 5x=52
then x=52/5

If you mean x-2%2F5-X=8%2F5-X%2B2 then
-2%2F5+=+8%2F5+-+x+%2B+2
multiply by 5
-2 = 8 - 5x + 10
-2 = 18 - 5x
-20 = -5x
x = 4
