The price of the printer with 40% discount is
+300+-+.4%2A300+=+300%2A.6+
+300%2A.6+=+180+
-----------------
+1200+%2B+180+=+1380+
The regular price of the computer plus the
price of the printer with 40% discount is
$1,380

the regular price of a computer is $1200 and
the regular price of a printer is $300
a promotion that offers a 40% discount on the printer when the computer is purchased at the regular price
so, first find a 40% discount on the printer
40%=40%2F100=0.40....multiply the regular price
$300%2A0.40=120...so,discount on the printer is $120
and you will pay for the printer $300-120=180

the total cost of the computer and the printer at the promotional price is
$1200%2B180=1380
